I think Mouse Paint is one of my favorite books for teaching about primary and secondary colors to young children. In this book three white mice find three jars of paint (red, blue, yellow) and they jump in and out. They begin mixing and stirring these colors and discover some amazing things while having so much fun...
Here are two follow up activities that I love to make with this book:
Balloon Painting: Use primary colors or any colors to show what happens when you mix different colors.
I admit that it is kind of messy, but I bet your kids are gonna love balloon painting:)
